the challenge of globalization

The passage that was written by Norberg on Nike sweatshops is to show people in all different parts of the world how something that looks very horrible and make it beneficial in the overall results. Well as I read on in the passage I felt that me personally I would hate the sweatshops why I feel that I would be working for long periods of time and making very little money I could never survive off only a couple of dollars a week.

When I read on how Norberg said Nike sweatshops maybe beneficial to a county I asked myself why would this guy think that Nike sweatshops are beneficial to other countries, and I had a moment of epiphany and that was that maybe if I was to make a sweatshop in a smaller poor community or low income community or country how would I make money for my community or nation? Well I would make sweatshope.Beause think about it if im poor and I need to make money fast I would work for very little money as well its more than what im making now! Second have of my epiphany was that I feel that by me making money off other countries is boosting my economic status up and not to mention by selling my products for little or no money will have big countries like London, united states wanting to do business with me all the time.

Last but not least me as a person I feel that there are some sweatshops in America not such as the ones in incoming countries but in America there are jobs that may make it seem like the modern sweatshop is the Wal-Mart’s across the U.S! With that said Wal-mart makes there workers work for hours and then when there shift is done they maybe able to go home, but on some days employees of the store have to work mandatory overtime which they do not get paid for at all and sometimes that can be a double shift which you do not get paid at all for. Finally if you get injured on the job Wal-mart has cheap insurance plains which you will not be covered if hurt on the job.

So I agree with some of Norberg’s points of view but at the same time I feel that he is not thinking about the people in the county and how they feel but he is thinking about money and how he can better the economy even if it does invest in the lower class citizens at all.
