Global Village Finally Arrives
First im going to start off with my opinions on the following passage that was required to us in class I feel that global village touches a key significant’s in how globalization works or even experienced. For example when the author of this passage Pico Iyer mentioned that when he walked out the front door and walked down the street he felt like he was in many different countries all at once, how he describe the town in details about the town was very impressive I though, the way he remarked to a such place in a way that he felt like he was more than one ethnicity I thought that was very well outspoken on his behalf.
With that said I feel that in the book when Iyer talks about the diversity in different towns, I feel that it is an upcoming positive issue which us as an American citizens are starting to except. For example when the author started to talk about some of the ways he spent the after noon when he would go out for his lunch breaks, some of the places which he would select had been from many different foreign countries; such as Italian restaurants , Chinese, and Spanish restaurants.
Last but not least the positive side of having different cultures and diversities in the country which the author of the passage had mentioned had been that living in Southern California reminds him of other locations all around the world He referred to Southern California as being closely related to, Sydney, London, or Hong Kong, and some times as if he was living in Spain. With all them nationalities being group together in many up coming rural areas you start to find thing that you may never thought about, but with different cultures and different ethnic backgrounds putting their minds together you will see that a community or town that do that are the positive strengthen communities in the united states.
The negative side which I got against that is that people are not always hip to changes in the communities. For example I feel that there would not always be fighting for territories, or even culture territory over in other country’s if the world was not so heavily divers.
